Tenaya is an Austin-based artist who crafts fine art drawing directly from the earth. Inspired by connecting deeply with nature, her process begins with foraging and sourcing local natural materials — followed by traditional hand-processing techniques to create pigments and paints. Each piece is sealed with natural elements, blending the art with the very land that inspires it. My work is a journey back to our roots, creating soulful, narrative-driven landscapes that resonate with the essence of Mother Earth. The call of art has pulled on her soul for as long as she can remember — and the realization that she could weave that calling into the earth itself has changed the very way she approaches her work. Tenaya creates fine art that takes us back to where we all began. Inspired by the rhythm of Mother Earth and the way we experience her world, Tenaya suspends local, natural elements into her art. With an eco-conscious combination of materials that includes handmade pigments, inks, and paints, Tenaya paints subtle, emotional, and narrative-driven landscapes into raw linen and canvas.
