Mande works in her home studio in Johns Island, SC filled with loud music while she paints (leading to the occasional dance break).

Mande, a peace-seeking painter lives in Johns Island, SC. Her story is a little unique compared to traditional artists in that during art school, she got a lot of “you aren’t doing that right” and “don’t mix that with that."

Over the next ten years, Mande grew her digital art practice and became a Creative Director, working in digital agencies. Her love of nature and peace are what drove me back into the arms of painting.


Fast forward a few years: Mande grew her hobby into a small business, Mande Calhoun Art, LLC (mandecalhounart, LLC) while forming partnerships with multiple print shop and featured on Apartment Therapy, HGTV, and Vogue. Mande paints to find peace and uses a variety of mediums often mixing pastels with watercolors and acrylics, and when the moment is right - sand, tea and pencils.
